Pimple Be Gone - Get rid of Pimples and Pimple Spots

The term Pimple can mean several things, all of them relate to the skin, but there can be mild acne, which is a pimple occasionally, moderate acne where there are regular breakouts or severe acne. Severe acne is when there are constant breakouts; they can be painful and need pimple treatment by a dermatologist.

Pimple affects millions of teens and young adults and is treated with over the counter medications for mild or moderate acne, but for severe acne the dermatologist will use prescription medication. Over the counter medications usually contain one of two active ingredients that will help clear the skin; these are benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Prescription pimple medication contains ingredients like Retin A and in some cases the dermatologist will prescribe antibiotics. Antibiotics are able to work below the skin level to help decrease pimple. Severe acne will not clear up without medical treatment, but will become worse and it can cause scarring. Mild or moderate pimple (acne) can be controlled with proper cleansing, a good diet and over the counter pimple medications.

Pimples usually begins after puberty due to changes in the hormones that cause the sebaceous glands to over produce oil. This over production of oil in the skins pores then mixes with dead skin cells, where it can be come hardened causing blackheads, whiteheads or mix with bacteria and cause an infection known as pimples. Some teens are more at risk for pimples than others, because this is a skin condition that can be inherited. If one or both parents had pimple as a teen and young adult then there is a higher risk for their child to suffer from pimple. Acne in some cases can last into the mid to late twenties even when treated, but rarely lasts beyond.
