Acne is a skin-related infection that can sometimes leave very ugly scars on the skin of the infected person. There are varied reasons why it occurs ranging from hormonal growth (especially in adolescents) to allergies and in rare cases genetic inheritance. The good thing however, is that it is treatable through various ways and one of them is through special diets.
Acne vulgaris, commonly referred to as acne, is the most common cutaneous chronic inflammatory disorder of multifactorial origin with prevalence in adolescents. It consists of the pilosebaceous follicles characterized by comedones, papules, pustules, nodules, cysts (inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions), and often scars in certain sites of predilection, that is face, neck, chest, arms and back. It affects mostly the teenagers and the youths between 12 to 44 years.
The best acne treatment diet includes food with high glycemic components such as chocolate and milk. The latter can be partially skimmed or an immediate breakfast drink (milk). It can also be gotten from cream, cheese and sherbet. Different researches have established that hypothesis can be as a result of hormones and sometimes iodine which are present in cow milk. Carbohydrates, vitamins A and E, and hygienic foods are also recommended for treating acne.
