Can you have acne due to vitamin deficiency?

Deficiency of vitamins and minerals can interfere with the ability of the body to counter acne. Deficiency of vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin C and vitamin E can cause acne. Vitamin B3 helps improve blood circulation and thus helps keep skin firm and supple. Green leafy vegetables, whole grains, meat and dairy products are rich in this vitamin. Vitamin B5 helps reduce the effects of stress on the body while vitamin B6 boosts immunity. These vitamins are found in foods like peanut, whole grains, broccoli, and avocado. Vitamin E protects the cells of human body from harmful effects of free radicals. This is found in almonds, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, and olive oil. You can take multivitamin supplements to enhance the vitamin content of your diet. Always take supplements in consultation with your doctor.
