Acne rosacea, better known as rosacea, is a skin infection that causes inflammation all over the face, especially on the lower part of the nose, chin and forehead. In this condition, the petite blood vessels become enlarged and thus visible on the surface of the skin. Unlike the typical form of acne, this condition does only plaque teenagers but also adults. In common cases, it affects people with fair skin between the ages of 30-50. The most evident symptoms of this condition are pink or red colored patches, small red bumps, visible red blood vessels, cysts and sometimes, irritated eyes. Rosacea is an untreatable skin disease with periodic emergence of lesions. Frequent episodes of this condition can aggravate inflammation and lead to the formation of red bumps typical of acne. This is the reason why sometimes, this condition is often mistaken for acne. The predominant cause of this skin condition is genetic inheritance. Further, over-exposure to sun, presence of mites in the hair follicles and prevalence of certain gastronomical diseases have been known to stimulate this condition. In addition, a variety of other causes like stress, anxiety, embarrassment, fear and weather conditions are known to aggravate the inflammation and thus the lesions.
