Makeup on acne: harmful or not? |
It is common to see acne breakouts after wearing the makeup, especially on an oily skin. This happens because certain ingredients in the makeup, particularly in the foundation, clog the skin pores and invite the bacteria present in the environment. This results into a mild occurrence of signs of acne. It is disastrous to further hide these skin lesions with the help of foundation as it worsens the outbreak and makes the lesions more evident. Next, besides makeup, some wrong behavioral practices of women also tend to make their skin condition look more terrible. This can be well explained by an example as when a woman wearing a heavy layer of make-up touches her face, she introduces bacteria and germs clinging on her fingers to her skin pores. This bacteria breeds and grows if the skin is oily or the make-up is moist. Besides, foundation, liquid eye liner is another culprit for the stimulation of acne. This is the reason why it is absolutely imperative to choose the correct makeup for oneself. It is advisable to pick makeup accessories that are labeled as noncomedogenic. This kind of makeup does not clog into the skin pores and does not cause acne. One may win half the battle against acne if one adopts the practice of removing the makeup before hitting for sleep. |
