Home remedy for removing Infant Acne

Baby acne usually resolves on its own by the time the child is around 6 months old. It is essential to keep baby’s skin clean and dry at all times. Remnants of milk formula, drool and spit can worsen baby acne. Clean your baby’s skin using a mild soap or cleanser. Pat dry the skin with a soft, clean towel. Do not scrub your baby’s skin vigorously or use oily creams and lotions. Wash baby’s clothes using a mild detergent since residues of harsh chemical on clothes can aggravate the condition. Do not overheat your baby since trapped heat can worsen baby acne. The best home remedy for acne is to apply some breastmilk on the affected area. The antibacterial, soothing properties of breast milk will help prevent inflammation and irritation associated with acne. Some people suggest applying a paste of honey and lime juice over the acne affected areas. Dab the mixture on with some cotton wool and leave it on for some time. Then clean it with a gentle cleanser. It is possible that the mother’s diet influences the progression of baby acne, especially if the baby is still breastfeeding. Mothers should include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet. These are rich in antioxidants and nutrients and their benefits will be passed on to the baby. Mothers should also cut down on greasy and oily foods since they may worsen acne in the baby.
